The Casco Days volunteers, the town of Casco, and the Lake Region community at large mourns the loss of our beloved Holly Hancock (1956-2023). Holly passed away peacefully in September but leaves a hole in our Casco Days family.
Holly was an active member of the greater Casco community her entire life, a town and a community she dearly loved. Holly was deeply involved in the Casco Fire and Rescue for 32 years, serving in numerous leadership roles including Rescue Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. Holly was deeply committed to the Casco Days Association, serving as a longtime volunteer and President. She worked tirelessly and year-round to ensure the continued success of her town’s most beloved yearly event. Holly loved Casco – you could always find her Casco Days weekend with a walkie-talkie, always tuned in to the events and always ready to go lend an extra helping hand.

Holly is survived by her mother Sue, brother Brent, sons Evan and Geof and five granddaughters, Lily, Emilia, Adeline, Lucy and Sophia. She also leaves behind many friends and wider family members that were dear to her, including the entire Casco Days family. At her memorial service in September, Holly’s family asked for donations to Casco Days in lieu of flowers. That’s who Holly was; always giving back. We will miss you, Holly Hancock.
