Where did the slogan "Always the last Saturday in July" come from? At one of the planning meeting over 25 years ago a lively discussion took place on which weekend Casco Days was. Saturday was August 1st and some thought it should be that weekend (and many years ago it had been held on that weekend); others thought it should be the weekend before as it was a JULY EVENT. A vote was taken that it would always be the last Saturday in July, and the Thursday and Friday evening before.
As life picked up speed, and families seemed to be a great distance away "The Last Saturday in July" has proved to be an easy way for plans to be made.
We had an awesome time this year at Casco Days, and we sincerly THANK YOU for your support. We are already planning next year. CASCO DAYS 2013 will be JULY 25, 26, 27. So when you are renting, planning a Maine vacation or family reunion, make CASCO DAYS part of your plan. We will keep you posted on Facebook all winter long.
